Leader in digital marketing optimization hires industry veteran in game-changing, global move
SAN MATEO, Calif., May 16, 2008 – Coremetrics, the leading provider of digital marketing optimization solutions, has appointed Kathi Kaplan as Chief Marketing Officer. Kaplan brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing for high-tech companies, including Apple, Borland Software, Business Objects and Silicon Graphics, Inc. At Coremetrics, Kaplan will lead the strategic development of integrated marketing initiatives across the company’s global footprint.
Kaplan will work closely with Jeff Schmidt, Vice President of Worldwide Sales, to maximize international growth through the development of new customer acquisition and retention programs. She will also drive the company’s brand strategy and vision in the marketplace, reflecting its industry-leading position.

Before joining Coremetrics, Kaplan was Vice President of Global Demand Marketing at Borland Software, where she was responsible for building a world-class global field marketing team and implementing solution-specific campaigns that maximized sales leads. Prior to this, Kaplan held the position of Vice President, Americas Field Marketing at Business Objects, where she created a powerful marketing engine that fueled lead generation and sales pipeline across the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
During her tenure as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Silicon Graphics, Inc., a leader in high-performance computing, Kaplan was responsible for corporate marketing, as well as leading the company’s re-branding as SGI. Kaplan has also held senior marketing positions at various technology start-up organizations, focusing on brand development and customer acquisition.
Kaplan holds an MPA from the University of Southern California.
